La Lauze holiday villas

Situated on the outskirts of the medieval village of Aniane in the Languedoc region of the South of France, La Lauze combines the best of the rugged rural landscape, with easy access to the rivers, beaches & lakes of the area.

The scent of sun-drenched thyme and rosemary fills the brilliant, clear air of the hillside garrigue where La Lauze, a small group of modern houses nestles in landscaped and attractively planted grounds, approached by a private road climbing through wooded country.

The panoramic view over the vineyards of the plain to the Seranne mountains in the west is unforgettable, especially at sunset, and can be enjoyed from the swimming pool as well as from the houses.

Places of interest within easy reach of Aniane abound, notably: St. Jean de Fos (hand made traditional local pottery); St. Guilhem le Desert (picturesque mediaeval village with a magnificent abbey); Le Pont du Diable (mediaeval bridge over the spectacular Herault river gorge and an ideal spot for river bathing); the coastal resorts of the Mediterranean. Aniane itself is an attractive country town with cafes and restaurants, an abbey, and surrounded by vineyards renowned for some of the best wines of Languedoc.
